You are about to begin your first research project!

The class will learn all about reindeer and

with the help of the computer

present what we have learned to anyone who views our website.

Let’s begin this exciting learning adventure!

You will visit different websites to collect information about reindeer.

After you have learned about the reindeer

you will enter what you learned into the computer

and make a power point presentation.

Here we go!

Task

1. Title Page

1. Go to the power point presentation and fill in your title.

- It should have the word Reindeer in it.

- Remember it is a title and you must use uppercase letters for the first letter in each word.

- Keep in mind you are writing a factual report.

2. You will also need to type in your name and your partner’s name.

2. Appearance

1. Read the information from the website to answer these questions.

- What colour is a reindeer?

- How large is a reindeer?

- Are there any differences between males and females?

- What is their body covered with?

- What do their hooves look like?

When you know the answers write at least three sentences about the appearance of the reindeer.

2. Now write about what you learned from the website. There are two pages with the title APPEARANCE. On the first one write one sentence and you can write two more sentences on the second page.

3. Habitat

1. Read the information from the website to answer these questions.

- Where do reindeer live?

- What is the land like?

- Is it cold or hot?

- Do they move in different seasons?

- Is there anything special about their bodies that help them to live where they do?

When you know the answers write at least two sentences about the habitat of reindeer.

2. Now write what about you learned from the website. There is only one page with the title HABITAT. Write at least two sentences.

4. Eating Habits

1. Read the information from the website to answer these questions.

- Where do reindeer eat?

- Is there anything special about what they eat?

- Are they meat eaters (carnivores), plant eaters (herbivores) or do they eat both meat and plants (omnivores)?

When you know the answers write at least three sentences about the eating habits of reindeer.
